Last updated 31 July 2008. For the most part, these are records from my personal collection which I've decided not to keep because I just don't have enough space on my shelves. In some cases, the items are records that I bought more than one copy of. Sometimes I can't help myself... For those of you who check back regularly, the most recent entries will be at the top of the list. Important details: 1. I am in Berkeley, California, and prices are in US dollars. Shipping costs are not included. Orders for items from this list may be combined with orders for Radio Khartoum goods to save on postage. If you want to find out about Radio Khartoum, click here. |

| Bobbie Gentry | Local Gentry | Excellent soft rock album by Bobbie Gentry–I kid you not! Lousy condition, but it plays, and it’s a free taste... *Free with purchase of any other 12" vinyl items. Just ask for it. | Capitol | ST 2964 | LP | free |
| Klaxon 5 | Hothouse | 3 insanely good tracks from 1984 which come closer to the dancefloor than anything else in the original él Records catalogue. Definite shades of Haircut 100, but I wonder if anything by the H100 could touch this? My girlfriend went ape when I played this last week: “What can we play next to top that?!” (Rare praise indeed). Produced by Stephen Street, and very different from the 7” (which also didn’t include the best track). For you label spotters, this is the él Benelux version (sleeve artwork and label in blue/green instead of black). Hothouse (5:28) The Blunder (4:30) Feel and Reap (The Repercussion) (2:43) This is a duplicate I picked up, of course, and from the looks of it, the one test spin I gave it is the only one it’s ever had. Sleeve: mild shop wear: a few small creases/wrinkles; tiny (1cm) split at bottom; paper slightly browned with age. | él Benelux | el two t / ELT 2 | 12" | $25 |

The undersized 100 can be had for $5. This is item SLP10 on this page of the Bags Unlimited site. | SLP10 | $10 | ||

| Horst Jankowski | Nola | b/w A Walk in the Black Forest A couple amusing bits of easy listening, but nothing nearly as funky the sides Horst would do a few years later for MPS in Germany. | Blanket Music | Move | there’s a cocktail parasol in the jewelcase spine | Hush Records | hush 033 | CD | $6 |
| The Work | Slow Crimes | Angry prog/post punk in a chaotic and angular This Heat / Cold Storage vein from 1982. Some subset of this band went on to record an ace little EP as The Lowest Note on the Organ for the same label (which is how I came upon this LP). Bill Gilonis, Mick Hobbs, Tim Hodgkinson, Rick Williams, Catherine Janniaux with contributions from Chris Cutler among others. Vinyl plays great, sleeve is worn on the edges and partly taped at the top. Includes insert. | Woof Records | woof 3 | LP | $10 |

| 23 Skidoo | The Culling is Coming | The rare Crepuscule edition of this LP...or the only Crepuscule copy I've ever encountered at any rate. Different cover from the more commonly seen Operation Twilight edition and the later reissue on L.A.Y.L.A.H. Vinyl is in excellent condition; cover generally clean and glossy, but with a few creases and just a slight hint of ring rub at the top. | Les Disques du Crépuscule | twi 123 | LP | $16 |
| Terry Callier | Fire on Ice | Has promo sticker on front. Vinyl and cover in excellent condition, small split at bottom of inner bag (which is printed with lyrics and credits) | Electra | 6.00E-143 | LP | $7 |
| Jackie & Roy | A Wilder Alias | As I started exploring Jackie & Roy this was the album that folks in the know would mention most. Turns out that my personal fave is a different album ("Grass," from around the same time as this one) but this one is great too, and definitely the pair's wildest that I've heard. Opening track is a stomper. Vinyl here plays great, while the cover has a medium amount of shop wear (ring wear and scuffing), but certainly isn't too bad. | CTI | CTI 6040 | LP | $6 |
| Baxendale | An American Friend | b/w You Know the Rules (rather nice sleeve on this one) | Evil World Records | sin 02 | 7" | $4 |
| Newell | Les gens serieux m'ennuient! | 4 song ep packaged with a very large poster silk screened on that tissue paper used for dressmaking patterns (which is also the theme of the artwork). | Cornflakes Zoo | zoo 9 bis | 7" | $6 |

| (Michael Viner's) Incredible Bongo Band | Bongo Rock | NM (I played it a couple times) 2006 reissue. 17 tracks on 2 LPs. | Mr. Bongo Recordings | MRBLP043 | 2LP | $13 |
| v/a | Hier Super 12 - Bitte Melden! | 12-track German compilation from 1993 featuring mainly exclusive tracks by 5 Freunde, Merricks, Painting By Numbers, Huah!, Time Twisters, Blinzelbeeren, Fenton Weills, Licht, Der Profi, Belfounder, Family 5 and EA 80. | Viel Leicht | propellor - 005 | LP | $6 |
| Bob Dorough | Devil May Care | First album by Bob, from 1956. Great cover, cool songs too, and relatively rare. But the vinyl on this copy is in too poor condition to be worth selling online, so this copy is free (with any purchase of $10 worth of 12" vinyl—just ask for it). It plays without skips, but the surface noise is loud enough that you'll surely start looking for a better copy for playing. | Bethlehem | BCP 11 | LP | free |
| Float Up CP | Kill Me in the Morning | The more pop, more funk, less jazz follow up to Rip Rig & Panic. | Rough Trade | rough 77 | LP | $7 |

| Mélanie Bauer présente Ketchup & Marmalade (vol. 1) | v/a | Excellent compilation put together by French radio host Melanie Bauer featuring a handful of RK friends (Julien Ribot, Ignatus, Orwell) and a host of other excellent people. Many of the tracks are collaborations between the invited artists and Ms. Bauer, giving the disc more continuity than the average various artists outing, and so far as I know, the Orwell track is the only non-exclusive number. I tried to get this disc into distribution via RK last year, but someone at the label fell asleep, so all I have to sell is this one spare copy that I managed to get my hands on. 1 - Brigade Mondaine - Mélanie Bauer & Marc Collin 2 - C'est La Vie - Kaolin & Dionysos 3 - Organic Idols - Mélanie Bauer & Julien Ribot 4 - L'oeil Sur Le Bois - Lala (Featuring Jipé Nataf & Albin De La Simone) 5 - Lunatika - Prudence 6 - Baby Boom - Agnès Bihl & Tom Poisson 7 - Et Pendant Ce Temps Là... - Mélanie Bauer & Ignatus 8 - Twist The Small - Lapwing 9 - Wish - 2 Square 10 - The French Chords - Flairs & Mau 11 - Here And There - Orwell & James Warren 12 - Le Présent - Olivia Ribot & Tantely 13 - La Pieuvre - Mélanie Bauer & Christophe Crénel 14 - Technologies - Mélanie Bauer &Vendetta 15 - Laura - Daner & Mlle Aurore 16 - Be Fearless - Dreams & Desire 17 - La Mobylette Rouge - Les Troubadours Du Désordre | Ignatub / Recall / Warner France | Recall 092 | CD | $16 |

| Ray Bryant Trio | Gotta Travel On / It Was a Very Good Year | 14459 / 14542 A-side sounds pretty clean, static is more audible on the B-side. Both sides look quite clean. | Cadet | 5535 | 7" | $2 |

| Rinocerose | Le Mobilier | I saved this one from a bargain bin. Jacket has lots of bends and wear. Vinyl plays fine. This is a 3 sided record (i.e., the second 12" is intentionally blank on one side - very useful for setting the anti-skate on your turntable, btw). Rinocerose had an earlier 10" EP on Elefant (which can also be found in my sale box, unless someone has already beaten you to it. Use your browser's search function). | Crepuscule France / PIAS | TWI 1055DEP | 2xLP | $4 |
| Sun Ra | Space is the Place | Petter Testbild! recommended this one, but I'm not that into it... Reissue, gatefold, plays excellent. Lower left corner of jacket has 1.5cm ding, upper left of front cover has 6 tiny white spots from possible sticker removal. (They're not in a normal price sticker place, and they are tiny...). | ? | ? | LP | $14 |

| Cristina | Disco Clone | A: Disco Clone (English); B: Disco Clone (French). The rougher, grittier original version produced by John Cale in 1978 (and quite different from the 1980 version). Record and sleeve both in excellent condition. | Ze Records | ZE-001A | 12" | $15 |
| Peter Bjorn and John | Young Folks + 2 | An extra copy of an ace single featuring duet with Victoria Bergsman from the Concretes on the title track. B-sides are "Ancient Curse" and "All Those Expectations - weak mix". | Wichita | WEBB107SCD | CD | $3 |
| The Magnetic Fields | 69 Love Songs box | Box set, all three discs plus the whopping fat booklet with Daniel Handler interviewing Stephen Merritt. Some sticker goo and modest scuffing on box; light scuffing on jewelcases. Discs, booklets and book all look very good. | Merge | Merge 169 | 3xCD, book | $18 |

| Doc Wör Mirran | Bundeswehr Goons + 5 more tracks | 6 track ep of musique brut and noise experiments from 1987. Presumably self-released on Empty Records out of Nürnberg with the clever catalogue number MT-045 (get it?). Every track finishes with a lock groove. Not sure if the sleeve is hand painted or silkscreened, but it glows in the dark and has a 16 page booklet with words and (pasted in) pictures. A hell of a lot of work. First edition, numbered #161 of 200 on both booklet and record label. Vinyl in near pristine condition (I don't think I could have played this more than 5 times in the 18 or 19 years I've had it); outer sleeve shows slight curling at top and bottom, but otherwise as perfect as handmade gets. | Empty Records | MT-045 | 7" | $25 |
| Michel Legrand | Les parapluies de Cherbourg | The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. 2 CD version from 1997 with full soundtrack plus 6 bonus tracks (including Tony Bennett doing an English version). I adore the film (and the music) but find I can't actually listen to the music at home without my head being dominated by the film. Is that a bad thing? I don't know, but it doesn't work for me. (Strangely, I can listen to the Les demoiselles soundtrack at home, no problem...). | Sony | SM2K 62678 | 2xCD | $14 |

| Bob Dorough | Just About Everything | Free with purchase of any other 12" vinyl items. Just ask for it. There's a small warp which renders the first minute of the first track on side 1 unplayable (side 2 is OK). I dig this album, and finally found a replacement copy. Bob is a wordy jazz singer with a light Arkansas tinged voice. If you grew up in the US, you probably know him from the School House Rock cartoons ("Three is a Magic Number", etc). Bob was in charge of the project. | Inner City | IC 1023 | LP | free |

Cover has modest ringwear, a four or five inch split on the top edge, three small scars from where stickers have been removed, and remnants of four pieces of invisible tape where someone had obviously taped an index card to the front. | The Legendary Jim Ruiz Group | Mij Amsterdam e.p. | Promo only release from Trattoria. Doesn't have the Trattoria "menu" number of the normal releases. 4 tracks taken from the group's "Oh Brother Where Art Thou? album. Rather cute artwork featuring an illustration from some old (60's, 70's?) car mechanic's manual. I'm sorry, but I can't i.d. the type of car. Doesn't look like the Yugos of the 80s, at any rate. Slimline case. | Trattoria | HI-5179 | CD | $12 |

| Last Few Days | Too Much is Not Enough / Solemn Warnings / If The Bonds Are Not To Burst | From 1986, this was (I believe) the first vinyl release on Jon Wozencroft's Touch label, which prior to this point had been cassette (and elaborately printed freeform materials) only. A-side track had been featured on Touch's Ritual Magnetic North cassette/book comp, but obviously warranted a separate vinyl release: caustic mantra, reeling and somewhat surreal in its non sequiturs, all set to one very sturdy overloaded beat. A classic, and I don't know why the hell I've let it slip into the my sale box, other than that I so rarely play it nowadays. Very slight yellowing of paper along sleeve opening, otherwise in splendid condition. | Touch | T9:45 | 12" | $18 |

| Elli Medeiros | Bom bom... | 1987 album by Elli of Elli & Jacno fame, but on this LP she's working with Ramuntcho Matta (which is I why I bought this, as I'm a fan of Matta's tinkertoy instrumentals album in Crammed's Made to Measure Series. This album isn't tinkertoy...it's mid 80's jazzy pop. Not at all unpleasant to me, but not really my thing at the moment, either). Gatefold sleeve. | Barclay | 831662-1 | LP | $10 |
| Dean Fraser | Big Up! | "Advance CD" copy. Has artwork in jewelcase, but probably not the same artwork as the regular release. Opening track on this one is an absolute ska-jazz or jazz-ska stomper (with two drumkits banging away, one on the right and one on the left). Wish I could just get the one song on a 7" (ok...at 7 minutes, it would be too long), since the rest of this album isn't my cuppa. | Island (Jamaica Jazz) | CD | $4 | |

| Club 8 | Nouvelle | Debut album, first edition. Not sure how they printed this, but it isn't boring old CMYK process like the later edition. Actually looks like it might have been silk-screened. The "nouvelle" definitely appears to be hand stamped. And the paper is a nice semi-rough stock with the odd bit of confetti fiber. All in all, simple, rough, but elegant. Somebody must have gotten sick of doing these by hand... | Siesta | Siesta 42 | CD | $22 |

| El-Malo | El-Malo III | Third album by unclassifiable duo who started out on Nobukazu Takemura's Bellissima label before moving up to parent label Toy's Factory. Although this album is by far the most "mainstream" and rock oriented of the discs I've heard, there's still quite a bit of strangeness going on here...probably a testament to the fact that their second album was produced with Cornelius. The question is who influenced whom more? | Toy's Factory | TFCC 88062 | CD | $14 |

| Brion Gysin (w/ Ramuntcho Matta) | Self Portrait Jumping | Stories and poems by artist Brion Gysin. Quite reminiscent of W William S. Burroughs at times, ostensibly because Gysin is credited with inventing the cut-up technique which Burroughs became better known for. Recorded shortly before his death in 86, this album features Brion Gysin singing/rapping his own texts set to music by Ramuntcho Matta (working here in more of a "band" format as opposed to the General Strike vs Sack & Blumm style of Matta's later work), with guest performances by Don Cherry, Elli Medeiros, Steve Lacy, Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Caroline Loeb, and others. | Crammed/Made to Measure | MTM 33 CD | CD | $10 |

| v/a | Myths 2 | w/ General Strike (= David Toop + Steve Beresford), Hula, SPK, and Sub Rosa's re-mixing of an archival recording of a Tibetan Buddhist evening ritual. Price reduced accordingly. | Sub Rosa | Sub33002 3 | LP | $5 |
